Stressed Out!

Stressed Out!

The affects of stress on the human body and mind.

Quick fact before i get started, you can actually die from stress... so yea, if your extroverted go out and talk to people, if your introverted read a book or go out for a walk while listening to music.

One time ive been totally stresses out is actually the current situation im in. I have one and a half months before i graduate and i haven't completed half of the graduation requirements that i need to do to graduate. Im doing this blog because this would fulfill one of those requirements. So much to do in so little time.
Being stressed wares you out way faster than you usually would, your a lot more tied a lot of the time and need to sleep more to counter that exhaustion. You see the world in a lot more negative way than you usually would too. Stress can also affect you emotionally.
Like i stated in the beginning, stress can kill you. If your more of a out going person, talk to someone about it and if you cant write a blog like im doing. If your more of a secluded person like me, find time where you can be alone to think, go for a walk or read a book or even write blog. wow blogs are pretty useful now that i think of it.
If you find yourself in a stressful situation and it doesnt require your immediate attention walk away to think about and then comeback to it. If it does require your immediate attention, take a deep breath, hold it for a few seconds and then calmy let it out.

The first link takes you to an article that talk about how stress affects your health. The human body is designed to experience stress and react to it. Stress can be positive, keeping us alert and ready to avoid danger. Stress becomes negative when a person faces continuous challenges without relief or relaxation between challenges. As a result, the person becomes overworked and stress-related tension builds.
The second link goes more in depth about what stress it.  For many people, stress is so commonplace that it has become a way of life. Stress isn’t always bad. In small doses, it can help you perform under pressure and motivate you to do your best. But when you’re constantly running in emergency mode, your mind and body pay the price.
The third link explains some of the symptoms of stress. Stress can have wide ranging effects on emotions, mood and behavior. Equally important but often less appreciated are effects on various systems, organs and tissues all over the body.

Some facts i got out of those articles:
1) Stress has been called "the silent killer" and can lead to heart disease.
2) Its a myth that stress turns hair grey but it can make it fall out.
3) The top three stressful cities to live in, Chicago, L.A , and New York.
4) Stress can make acne worse.
5) Laughing reduces stress hormones
6) Stress causes capillaries to close, which restricts bleeding if a flesh wound should occur.
7) Research has shown that Dark Chocolate reduces stress hormones.
8) Chronic stress increases cytokines, which produce inflammation. Exposure to constant inflammation can damage arteries and other organs.
9) A 2003 study found that women with moderate levels of stress were at lower risk for suicide than those women who had very high or very low levels of stress.
10) Chronic stress floods the brain with powerful hormones that are meant for short-term emergency situations. Chronic exposure can damage, shrink, and kill brain cells.

One thing that i learned is that stress is a daily occurrence, and if you avoid it, it can seriously plague you if not taken care of.
